Striving and Suffering for Christ

²⁷ Only ^(A)let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, ^(B)with one mind ^(C)striving together for the faith of the gospel, ²⁸ and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but ^[a]to you of salvation, and that from God. ²⁹ For to you ^(D)it has been granted on behalf of Christ, ^(E)not only to believe in Him, but also to ^(F)suffer for His sake, ^30 (G)having the same conflict ^(H)which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

Unity Through Humility

2 Therefore if there is any ^[a]consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any ^(A)affection and mercy, ^2 (B)fulfill my joy ^(C)by being like-minded, having the same love, being of ^(D)one accord, of one mind. ^3 (E)Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but ^(F)in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. ^4 (G)Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of ^(H)others.

^5 (A)Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, ⁶ that you may ^(B)with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sons and Heirs

²⁶ For you ^(A)are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. ²⁷ For ^(B)as many of you as were baptized into Christ ^(C)have put on Christ. ^28 (D)There is neither Jew nor Greek, ^(E)there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all ^(F)one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And ^(G)if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s ^(H)seed, and ^(I)heirs according to the promise.

⁹ “I pray for them. ^(A)I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. ¹⁰ And all Mine are Yours, and ^(B)Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. ^11 (C)Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, ^(D)keep^[a] through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one ^(E)as We are.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

²⁰ “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who ^[a]will believe in Me through their word; ^21 (A)that they all may be one, as ^(B)You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. ²² And the ^(C)glory which You gave Me I have given them, ^(D)that they may be one just as We are one: ²³ I in them, and You in Me; ^(E)that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Bear and Share Burdens

6 Brethren, if a man is ^[a]overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of ^(A)gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. ^2 (B)Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill ^(C)the law of Christ.

^10 (A)Therefore, as we have opportunity, ^(B)let us do good to all, ^(C)especially to those who are of the household of faith.
